that's cool mate, thanks......there's an argurment at work to whether we should have field based support techs which can go out and fix, and if not report back issues. I've always said it wouldn't work but Im not so sure.
I'll called the activation line again and see what option it is.....it's been a while

I am aware that the key on the COA sticker differs from the actual product key on the machine.
My question is if I had retrieved the product key from the machine (i.e using jellybean) could I have used that or would I be in the same predicament.

I have just used a Dell recovery DVD as suggested from someone on another forum and it worked
